Our statement of Faith

Calvary Chapel Carbon Valley has been formed as a fellowship for believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such; only to their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.

We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's (Agape) love, which is greater than the differences we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

What we believe

We believe in the One True God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Triune in nature, being comprised of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe sin has separated all mankind from our Holy and Righteous God and as a result, we deserve judgement and eternal separation from him.

We believe God the Father, out of His love for us, sent His Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to be the propitiation for all who believe in His name. It is by grace through faith we are saved, forgiven of our sins and granted eternal life for all who believe.

We believe the Bible is God's written word for us, holy and complete. His word is relevant for all generations, lacking nothing as to add to it or take anything away. Profitable for the believer and edification of the saints.

We believe that the 66 book Canon of the Old and New Testaments are the fully inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, and that they are the infallible rule of faith and practice.

We believe Christ is the head of His church and His saints are the body. The church is one body made up of many members, each with specific roles. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to live out the Gospel by loving Him, obeying Him, and loving the world. We believe that baptism by water immersion and communion are open to all believers in Jesus Christ.
